Edwin Hofstede, an experienced air cargo specialist who has been working at Schiphol Airport since the mid-80s, founded the company. Starting with an office of 2 staff members in April 2002, nowadays there are almost 20 people arranging horse transportation worldwide. There are ±10 professional grooms taking care of the horses during a flight.
The office of ECS is conveniently located above the warehouse of handling agent dnata B.V. at Schiphol Airport, which includes 24 stables in 4 units, with direct ramp access. This location enables us to supervise warehousing, loading and airside procedures directly. Our service also includes sales activities and claim handling.
ECS is a member of the Animal Transportation Association (ATA), a non-profit international trade association “dedicated to promoting the members and providing access to necessary resources and education for the safe and humane handling and transport of all animals worldwide”.
